Another 5 day trip, this time between Broome and Kununurra, all written in one post because most of the journey was spent travelling rather than seeing. Still, there were a few notable stops and potential for visits in the future! Except...I changed my mind, 5 days in three posts!

Our arrival in Broome was delayed by the 4hr last minute maintenance of our Virgin flight. Seemingly we were the only passenger who didn't receive the notification of the delay as the other passengers started arriving just before our new departure time.

Domestic flights, while being louder are definitely roomier. Like Exmouth a few weeks ago, Broome Airport is another one gate airport where it takes about 5mins between exiting the plane to receiving our bags.

Even with the delay, we did have some time to check out the shopping plazas. I bought some boardies at a bargain price, before heading to our accomodation at Oaks Cable Beach Sanctuary. Enroute of course Broome was subjected to a full 50mm of rainfall. It cleaned the car well but did delay our dip into the swimming pool, but because we are on the off season, it was a swimming pool we had all to ourselves.

Dinner that night was at the Oaks resort. We were both fond of trying the Lamb Shank but alas the conversation went as follows

Me: Can we get the lamb shank please?

Her: Sorry, we've run out of the shank

Me: Oh, is there anything else you've run out of before I make another choice?

Her: No

Colleague: Can I get this (drink) on tap?

Her: No, we've run out.

Me: Can I get the steak please, rare?

Her: Yes, how would you like it cooked?

Me: Rare.

Her: Medium rare?

Me: Rare.

I got my steak correctly cooked, rare, but with all the wrong sides. It was still a good experience.

We visited the Dragonfly Cafe for some delicious eggs Benedict, which set me up nicely for the long drive to Fitzroy Crossing....

The next day we had breakfast at the Dragonfly Cafe on the main strip, and had a bimble around Broome itself, visited Gantheaume Point, took a few photos of the famous Cable Beach whilst the tide was out and had a close look at a luxury yacht which had beached during the last cyclone, waiting for the next one to take it back out the sea.
