I'm a fan of trips to the city, but usually find them filled with calorie heavy activities, so I try to mix it up. Now I have been to Claisebrook Cove before, mostly through cycling there for lunch. This time L and I decided to have a bimble around and look at the Claisebrook Cove Art Walk.

For anyone looking to do the walk, it's well worth downloading the guide, with descriptions of each of the items. We parked on the south side and as far as I know, there isn't any free parking in the area, and the CPP one we were at, had a maximum of two hours.

A quick walk down to the shore, presented us with a decent view of the Optus Stadium, just a shame about the grey weather. Though as I write this on this 40 degree day, it was probably for the best.

Along the riverbank were a number of obelisks by artist Toogarr Morisson. There was also a glimpse of the Matagarup Bridge, with its newly installed zip line.

There was a raised area for views and also a snazzy mosaic on the floor. The story behind it is a little sadder than the colours make it out to be.

We crossed the bridge to the north shore and then hooked it round to the west end walking along the interesting and probably very expensive townhouses.

We walked on the opposite side to our lunch spot and then walked up through the tunnel to the west end and Claisebrook Lake. Where I was looking forward to seeing some mathematically impossible shapes!

The tunnel had its own art thing going on, with popular aboriginal terms translated into english along the length of the tunnel. The little stream continued to the lake and past it, up to a small fountain, which if Google Maps is to be believed is still called the Swan River.

We did a u-turn, walking along said 'Swan River', checked out the Impossible Triangle, which for the record can only be seen properly in two spots apparently, one is on the steps on the south side.

We had a great lunch at The Partisan, with their snazzy 'ordering through your phone at the table' service, which, actually works quite well.

Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone.
