Sculptures by the Sea is a bit of a Perth Institution. Every year at the beginning of March we get almost three weeks of Sculptures by Sea. A national event, touring from one state to the next, it’s always held at Cottesloe when it finally arrives in WA. A handful end up in Fremantle, but the bulk are on the beach at Cottesloe.

This year the ‘show’ opened up on Labour Day weekend. This means everyone was off, and seemingly at Cottesloe. It was horrible, from my perspective anyway! Still, went at dusk and had the benefit of a lovely orange sky.

The trip was cut short by the lack of light, the hordes, no tripod...

Cyzie and I returned a few days later, after the weekend, hoping to enjoy the sculptures to ourselves by attending at an anti social hour and doing some light painting. Little did we know we would be attending during prime time ‘sprinkler-hour’. It made for some dynamic photo taking.
