Needless to say, there were a few day trips whilst in the UK. After Aldeburgh, my mum and I decided to head over to Ely, and wing it. Lunch, a bit of a walk around and anything else we could find. It wasn’t warm, but wasn’t too cold either.

We took a quick riverboat trip on the Liberty Bell. A 30 minute round trip (up the river, down the river and then return) on the Great River Ouse costing only 6 pounds, and it wasn’t bad.

It was nice! It offered a fresh new perspective of Ely, from the water so, photos were taken.

Once off the boat we had a quick hot chocolate at the new Ta Bouche bar. It was okay I don’t think we were the right demographic for the place. The average age was clearly of pensionable age. We had a ponder around Ely Marina. It was pretty dull and overcast but at least the sky wasn’t just the one colour.

We headed into Ely town and had a quick lunch at The Old Fire Engine House, then popped over to Ely Cathedral, had a look inside, bought a magnet from the gift shop and then out towards the Cathedral gardens.
