Our last full day in this corner of the state and the plans was to sample a bit of the coast. We started down in Hamelin Bay where it was dull, windy and cold.

We extended the road trip north and decided to make the most of the gravel tracks in Boranup Forest. We turned onto Boranup Dr, just opposite Boranup Forest Maze and drove west, took a left onto Grace Road and honestly it took us forever to go down there. It’s definitely a 4WD track and whilst the ground for the most part was pretty solid, that track put the car at some pretty precarious angles!

Half way to the beach and I decided to turn back and go to the Boranup lookout. Another lookout that offers uninterrupted views of the ocean and forests, but very difficult to make more interesting in a photo, so instead I took a photo of a non-threatening magpie.

We passed a gang of quad biking tourists and settle on a spot on the track to take a few more interesting drone photos and videos. I’ve now noticed that if you fly past any oriental families they will always wave at the drone!

Indijup Beach was the next stop. Officially, I’ve been here more than a couple of times, but last time I brought Louise here, we completely missed the point of the ‘spa’ part of this location, where the incoming water is stopped by protective rocks, creating a pleasant swimming area. Today it was ridiculously windy and other than jumping around on the rocks, it wasn’t very pleasant at all.

The last stop of the day was Sugarloaf Rock. We’d arrived earlier than expected (in our complex itinerary) so used the time to climb over rocks and boulders we hadn’t done before.

This was my first chance to fly around Sugarloaf Rock, and the place is pretty spectacular.

Finally all the video I’d been recording, I decided to try my hand at a bit of video editing. So I grabbed a free song from the YouTube Academy and put together a little video. I’e learned that it’s time consuming, music dictates the video, cuts but not too many cuts, and my computer is not powerful enough to smoothly handle 4K video.
