On one of my days in Melbourne, we decided to go on a day trip to Philip Island and honestly I wasn't going to write a post because I didn't even take that many photos that I liked, but...I did like some. Phillip Island is about 80km South East of Melbourne, but much further to drive!

I expect most will know Phillip Island for the Grand Prix Circuit, but there are other things to see, which was a struggle at first due to the crappy starting weather. There is a tiny adjoining island at the East end called Churchill Island, complete with giant cow things and premium priced tourist farms.

The Grand Prix Circuit had bit of a museum with premium driving simulators, driving days and an adjacent go karting track.

As the weather cleared up, we drove to the west end, to Nobbies Centre, that has pricey museum for kids and a set of boardwalks to appreciate the views and incredibly strong winds.

They call it 'Nobbies'.

The big ticket item for Phillip Island is watching the Penguin Walk. So, there's a section of the beach where apparently penguins come in from the water, like clockwork and walk up a trail (man made I suspect) and head to their suburban homes.

As a visitor you get to choose if you want to watch it all unfold by sitting in the stands ($30), the viewing platform much closer ($75), the underground and undercover viewing gallery safe from the elements and super close to penguins ($85) or the super posh ranger guided viewings ($95).

But there is more, for $105 you can watch it all from a secluded beach away far from the poor people.

Unsurprisingly, we didn't wait until 6pm to watch the walking show. Finally we drove up to the seaside town to North called Cowes with a handful of shops, restaurants, supermarkets and seagulls.
